Typhoon Ondoy Operation Report
Upon monitoring at the radio and broadcast of incoming "typhoon ONDOY", immediately we organized our team to assemble to the UPAC Base Headquarter located at Greymarville Subd., the personnel signified their participations, we prepared our equipments and other rescue vehicle. Suddenly, the water at the creek at the back o our house where our head quarter is located, rose up, sensing the needs of rescue, we stoodby.
A. Suddenly one woman asked assistance due to her newly birthed daughter/child, canot pass across the Iglesia/Woodsrow bridge, we faced the strong curent (a meter high deep from the bridge flooring and to be transferred to nearbyy printing shop at # 1 Soutlane as well advised residence atop the creek to moveout/ be prepared for further rising of water.
B. Another man a security guard (Bernard Junterial) from Uniwide MetroMall approached up to help/assist his wife SHARON to be brought to CAA Lying-In Center as his tricycle cannot brave the strong wind and rain facing at the main road going to CAA, riding our Rescue Van was easily brought to the Health Center fast.
C. Traversing the road, another 2 calls from Eng'r Dave Sanchez requesting assistance at his house at Sterlinlife Homes Pamplona 2 already submerged in water. As returning back to base, Francisco Jose our fellow rescuer called by radio frequency that the wall of BF Resort at the back of his house collapsed as well Anna Factor our Secretary called up regarding Shut down assistance from Meralco as power lines near the level of flood water. We responded to Satima village first and after assessment of less danger, we proceeded to pick up Cris Bohol from Naga Road as there overflowing bridge also up there.
D From Naga road, we saw overflowing cars and people o the tricycle being pushed by the driver but no imminent danger there. We turned left to Vergonville with waist deep water level with people clinging at porches of the house, some walking and requested us to have a ride (arround 15 persons was brought to RFC Manuela gate for further destinations.
E We proceeded to Sterlinglife Village, while at the gate we was informed by the guard the deepness of the water and while asking for the house of Eng'r. Sanchez who called up earlier, Guard Dupan said that Eng'r. Sanchez had already relocated. Instead we just pushed the car of Eng'r. Cris de Guzman, (an officer there) from his garage to higher ground. While maneuvering, we met brgy. Captain Robert Villalon requesting us to assist Philam residence at Nueva Ecija Miranda St as it was head deep level now there.
F We met LP Engineering crew at Nueva Ecija St. as per the instructions, we helped transfer 6 people from Nueva Ecija St, 6 people old and children from Miranda St. to their clubhouse or nearby relatives and the last from another area, an old woman as we heard from the guard before we left the guard house main gate, she was transferred by Engineering Team to safer ground too.
G After reporting for further instruction from LPDCC Command Center, we proceed to Zapote where the was several people at the roof, we traversed as well the strong current at high as head level of flood water at the end portion of J.Rizal St. where the 5 needed people to be rescued was around7 deep atop their roof, was transferred to nearby 2-story house and also at 37 Balalagtas St., as reported by the relative, a 7-year old boy was left alone, though we responded, the child was no more there as it was rescued alone by some relatives.
WE RETURNED BACK TO LPDCC BASE AT ALMOST 9:00 PM
